Hello peeps,

Long time Landrover owner and Fan, on my 5th now, owned from new.

It has had a slight front top window seal leak- but every Disco I have owned has had that, the screen was replaced at 8 months after I hit a buzzard (yes)

This morning discoverd absolutely soaked Floor well on drivers side and slightly damp Pax side, no loss of any fluids engine wise and the water is clean and not rank. We have had heavy rain recently but not in the last few days.

I am thinking one of two things?

1. Damage or failure of the heater matrix or a build up of water in the intake bucket overflowing into the heater matrix? The heater AC and fan all still work.

2. The windscreen has developed a catastrophic leak.

I am leaning more towards 1 as in spite of little rain overnight it is still arriving. Before spending loads on replacing bits.

Opinions please.
Has anyone changed their Heater matrix and is it an easy job- costs parts anf labour from mechanic.

I am midly bemused, never had this happen before and I am worrying it may cause corrosion

Help!

Get the hose pipe out and have a look. Got to be rain water if it rained then there was a puddle inside.

My disco one has a swimming pool in the passenger footwell at the moment but then I don't have a door on it lol!

Sounds to me like the aircon drains are blocked. When aircon is working there's a lot of condensation which should drain to the underside of the car through 2 holes which have rubber nipple things on them. These are just above the front of the gearbox on either side and can be reached from underneath and you just have to squeeze them - warning - you'll get a sleeve full of filthy water.......

If you don't do any deep wading you can leave the nipples off.

And if it's an auto it's worth putting a pipe on the LHS one to direct the water away from the XYZ switch.

Had a look and can't locate them, are they high and on the vehicle framework or on a component.

I could not locate anything apart from the Gearbox breather down pipe and another donw pipe leading from another part, silver tube thing.

What is/are the drain holes on?

Sunroofs? Blocked drain tubes on D1s have led to front footwell floods before now, dont know how different D2 is (not much I suspect) on that score

Definitely - either side of the gearbox in the transmission tunnel. Black pipe comes down and ends in a little "squid" like thing which is supposed to let water out but prevent dirt getting in. Problem is dust and water make mud which blocks the drain.
