Hi Everybody, Prob with warning lights on my Disco 2 i.e. Hd - Abs and Tc had a diagnostic check on it, resulting in problem with electrical fault with shuttle valve. The lights are not on all the time, if I switch off and leave it 10 mins they dont appear straight away, I can probably drive either 5 miles or 20 before they come on. So is it doing any harm driving with the lights showing. What the heck does this valve do. And does it sound like an expensive repair. Any help appreciated Thanks.

U can drive it without probs just take into acount that these systems might not work....so dont enter in deep mud or descent hills untill u get it fixed(unless u have a central difflock)...if it's really the shuttle valve and u are not enough handy to repair it yourself or u need to replace it with a new one it might be expensive.......see these.... Google ...u'll se that the reapair kits are under dilemma

The repair listed on the Virgin Islands link is the one. The fault is caused by an intermittent connection to the shuttle valve. It is possible (probable?) that the shuttle valve itself is ok. I would try the repair on the exisiting valve first. You have nothing to loose.

Guard against getting too much information. The sure sign is the fact that the fault goes away if you switch off.

The repair is a little fiddly - but easily do able.

I did mine in less than an hour 6 months ago - no problems since

Good luck

Ian
