hi have not ried that yet how do you do it.

thanks

To reset your ECU - Assuming a 14CUX, just unplug it, then plug it back in after a couple of seconds. Some say you should leave it for a few minutes, so you could unplug it and go have a cuppa.

After you plug it back in, turn key to "ignition on" and check your EFI warning light goes out. Then fire her up and see if that's done the trick.

Sorry for the delay, have had to do some work. Find the ECU, probably beside the throttle pedal behind the trim. Remove trim, make yourself vey small and double jointed and remove the multi connector to the bottom of the sec, it has a small retaining clip furthest away from you. Once removed leave for 10 minutes or so (gives you time to put plasters on the cuts you have probably just recieved) then re-connect etc. This should reset the ECU and remove any recent settings it has adapted too. Worked for mine, although not perfect is a lot more drivable.

Guiness - your car has Bosch Motronic injection/ignition,not 14Cux.Disconnecting it will do nothing, you need a go on Testbook.
90% of Rover v8 faults are down to plugs and leads,if either are old swap them out.Genuine leads and NGK BPR6es plugs will do.

Could be somthing like plugs and leads but a temperature sensor / cold start sensor or similar (Not sure what the modern V8's have in em) would explain poor running cold and gas guzzlin rocket when warmed up.

no not lpg.
somtimes just starts up and runs ok tonight started and was slugish unitl warmed up.
have swopped plugs cats sensors ,not sure what to next.

thanks
