disco 2 v8 engine rebuild

thinking of building another v8.
if i can get hold of a decent 4.ltr v8 what should i replace .
ie big ends oils seals piston rings stem seals ,i have 2 heads that are good so will change the valve stem seals.
any thing else what about main bearings should these be changed while its out.

Leave crank bearings alone unless they are worn, the bottom end is pretty good on the V8 engine.

Replace camshaft if lobes worn below limits, but bearings usually OK. Oil pump rotor set, or the whole timing housing if you feel flush, timing cover seal, rear main seal (check seal land on the crank to make sure it isn't grooved.

Lifters usually OK, but not too expensive to change.
