Hi all,
So, this morning I drove my 2001 TD5 around the back of the house to change the air suspension to coil. Jacked it up, got the airbags out and got the springs in place. Unrelated, but while I was at it, I'd unplugged the water sensor in the bottom of the fuel filter and sprayed the contacts with cleaner. It let that dry for a half hour while we did the suspension, then plugged it back in nice and clean.

All went well and we dropped the car back down off the jack. I went to crank the engine to see how she drove, and it didn't start. We have a dig around and it seems neither of the two keys I have don't work any more. I can only lock and unlock the vehicle with the door lock.

Looks like the immobiliser has kicked in and won't re-mobilise. I've seen some kind of guide online about going through some motion with the key in the lock to put in the code again, but where do I find the code?
Any idea why this could have happened?

Thanks in advance.

i know but i'll never help somebody who 'desecrates' the D2's air suspension  ... i can tell you that what happened is the revenge of the SLS's spirit:D

trust me, if I had the cash I'd be repairing the air suspension, but it's pump, lines and bags all pretty much knackered at the same time. I can't fix that as well as put new tyres, fix 3 x electric windows, the sun roof, engine belt, brakes, etc. this thing's costing me a fortune! Is it repairable at home as it's massively inconvenient for me to not have the car working for my job?

OK i forgive you:D...unfortunately your problem is not very easy to solve...unless you have a so named "security card" for your car...they supply it with new cars but usually owners loose them. So if you have the security card there must be a code made by 4 numbers or combination of numbers and letters(4 characters) in hexadecimal code...this is the EKA code ...if you dont have the card any LR main dealer will give the EKA code to the prooved owner.( just prey that the previous owner didnt change it with tester cos it's possible), i'll attach you the procedure...this will remobilise the car but wont fix the issue...the most common probolem for what happened to you is a radio receiver failure(it's on the roof between the sunroofs> ...it used to suffer by water ingress or some times it's just a bad earth... it's quite cheap, plug and play... check it's earth though...there could be many more reasons but that's the first call.... if the receiver "gets to life" you dont need EKA cos you'll be able to unlock with fob and remobilise...the best is to get hold of that EKA monday anyway cos if it's some other fault than the receiver at least you'll be able to drive it

you missed that thread of mine: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/recommendation-d2-owners-184078.html?highlight=owners ...otherwise now you'll be able to drive it withourt EKA and with bad receiver too;)
