Bearing in mind she's on 190,000 she's done amazingly well

Just goes to prove that they don't all drop liners, although once (on a 3.9) was enough for me :(
Surprised at the oil-burning, my last 3.5efi still had factory compressions when I sold it at 160k.

The main problem with trying to fit an earlier 3.5/3.9 is that those blocks dont have provision to mount the crank sensor,or knock sensors.

The late 3.9's in a D1 have all the bits including bosses for the knock sensors, but the crank pickup housing needs changing if you are going to fit Thor Bosch ECU etc.
D2 housing is EIQ100020 and I have one on my desk. The PCD of the flywheel pickup drillings is different on a D2 flywheel.

The pickup housing is the only difference I found when I fitted a late D1 short engine to my D2.
