Disco 2 Auto Faults

Dear All,

Any advice on the below welcome...

I have an intermittent fault (well 2 actually) on my 2000 Disco TD5 Auto..

1. Occasionally in D it won't go into top gear and sticks in 3rd (?)..I stop, turn off and restart and the fault seems to clear. Any ideas?

2. Again occasionally it won't lock on the remote..horn sounds and the doors won't lock..then it's fine for a few days and then it does it again..?

Hi Kevin
Cant help with the autobox, but re your horn sounding and doors not locking.....this happens to my disco if one of the doors arent shut properly, on mine its warning telling me a door is open, usually the boot ,next time it happens make sure all doors are shut, might just work...steve

Agreed on the horn sounding - brief sound when trying to lock is the 'door open' warning. Dead handy, when you've worked it out! :doh:

what speed have you been getting upto as 4th wont kick in until you reach 50.
