Hello all,

New here so please be gentle. I have a V8 petrol disco 2 which to date has been a great vehicle. However the rear end is looking low.
Having searched on here I read through the definitive guide posted by battenberg. as such today I got the spanners out to start investigating.

It has sunk level but wasn't down to the bump stops, so there had to be air in the system, however self level button didn't raise it.
My first port of call was to check the filter as no air in, would surely be no air out.

It was a chilly 0 degrees C in the garden today. To my surprise i discovered the thicker piece of white foam like material at the bottom of the filter to be a solid block of ice!!

As such there has been rather excessive amounts of water getting into the filter. I have no idea how or where from.

Not a good sign!

I then checked the fuses, sure enough 30amp fuse under the bonnet had blown. This along with wet filter made me think compresser may be shot.

Dropped compresser, disconnected connections and put it up on the bench. When you shake it it sounds like a flask of coffee. when you then tip it up to empty it sure enough it has loads, and loads of rusty water in it.

I will try and source a new compresser tomorrow which will hopefully rectify my little problem before I drive to Corwall for my holidays at the start of January.

However i felt I should post because of the water ingress as I hadn't seen any other posts that mentioned this as being a problem.

Any thoughts from other members greatly appreciated, as I need to do something to avoid it happening again.

Thanks all, and all the best for the new year.
