Hello all I have a 2001 disco td5 10p I believe. It has this weird air/ vacuum diff lock system that switches it on and off via a actuator looking thing (sorry I’m new to discos) how can I remove this method and use it manually any help or advise would be appreciated thanks

Someone has fitted that locking diff, your disco would have a 24 spline non locking diff. Some came with a centre locking
diff in the transfer box its operated from the gear lever in front of your gear stick. Also some have the locking diff in the
transfer box but no lever or workings. Easy to check if you want to know how. There is no other way locking the rear diff it uses air.
If you dont want the locking diff you could fit an lsd or non locker diff. I have an lsd diff in my 90 & lockers in my Disco 1.

Cheers Kev

Edit just seen you've done the clutch so youd know if its got a centre locking diff??

If you mean the method with the EGR actuator connected to the diff lock spigot on the transfer box which locks the central diff i'd ask why would you remove that if it works cos it's a good mod, all you can do is to replace it with a dedicated diff-lock linkage which is expensive... if it's about some axle differential air locker i have no ideea
