I have searched high and low about the wiring for the diff lock on my d2 but can't find anything the car has the spigot in the transfer box but no linkage all I can find online is that the wiring should be present to illuminate the warning on the dash board I have found the switch just behind the spigot with nothing connected also there is two wires loose on top of the transfer box but they are to short too pull out. there is also another switch identical on the passenger side of the box can anyone shed any light?

Does this help?

  • Switch 11 is the Warning lamp switch - Differential lock - if fitted.
  • Switch 24 is the Warning lamp switch - Differential lock - if fitted.
  • Switch 33 is the High/Low detect
I haven't quite worked out why there should be two diff lock switches, I'll have to dig through the wiring diagrams, it's not immediately apparent.

If the 04 modell has the spigot without linkage it means that the TB was changed at a moment cos late facelifts should have got the whole CDL setup or not at all so it's possible that the wiring to not be there... no worries cos it's not so hard to redo it, first of all bridge those two wires, turn ignition on and see which warning comes on for that(it's possible to be the transmission temp warning if it's not the diff-lock))...then we'll speak...is your's manual or auto?

I have a feeling that you'll get the transmission temp warning on them then i'll tell you how to rewire things at a connector to make it diff-lock warning and you'll have just to prolonge those wires to reach the CDL switch on the TB

I doubt that there are 2 CDL switches there, AFAIK only 11 is the correct one... it might be some mistake in RAVE, the CDL switch is C0306/0307
