disco 11 tyres

Iam looking to replace the tyres on my 04 disco,I tow a caravan with it so most work done on tarmac , but we use lots of fields/farms to camp on .I am not happy with the original Wranglers as I have been stuck in about 3" of mud and had to be recovred by my mates 53 disco with Michelins on.Can anyone advise!!!
Tyre size 255x55x18

I've got the wrangler hp on mine (same size 255/55 r18 ) not had any probs yet & been on fields/forest with caravan. I don't expect them to be as good as off-road tyres but seeing as i do about 90% on tarmac & only 10% off road they'll have to do - only had it 3 months & all 4 tyres are almost brand new

not been in any really muddy conditions yet though so don't know how good they are

what michelins did your mate have on out of interest?

my mate has 235's on his which are M+S

Has to be BFG AT's. Had mine for 42,000 miles and not even half-worn. Great grip in all conditions I have used them in so far (99% road, some green lanes, and winter in northern Scotland, including some deep snow). Great value at £97 each balanced & fitted from Ostles tyres.

What size are your's ,as I didn't think that BFG did 255x55x18.Thanks

BFG do a 255/55/18 but only normal road not AT - its called the Macadam

you can get General Grabber AT II in 255/55/18 - similar tread to BFG AT's - about £99 each - don't know how good they are though
