i've been having trouble with my speedo lately and have traced the problem to the actual guage itself. if i get a secondhand one from somewhere how do i tackle the problem of the mileage not matching with my discovery??

Keep the old one and take a piccy, dated, of the new one.

Strangely enough if you try and change the clocks to the real mileage of the car then you are commiting an offence! But if you leave it and make a note and pics as above then you will be fine.
