Cleaning up the trailing arm ,is the ring on the right part of the arm , or a squashed in washer ?
I like Fertan and have had some very good results with it. I've found using panel wipe or brake cleaner, after the wire brush and wash work, aids success.Ta.
All cleaned off and Fertand up !!
Wot about the trailing arm?
It’s this ring I’m asking about.
I don’t want to take a chisel to it incase it’s part of the arm.

Now that's interestingThe "ring" you refer to is the friction weld where the "threaded bit" has been glued to the tube by spinning one against the other until they both melt and fuse together - very effective if done correctly, which your was if it has lasted more than a few seconds (!). the actual ring is the melted metal pushed out the joint during the weld to make the trailing arm the correct length.
I always thought these were stamped/drop forged in 1 piece & threaded after?
Or that may have been the fronts?
so what colour shall I paint them ?
yellow, blue. black ?
Now that's interesting
Certainly helped me. I didn't know that! Thanks, HTH
