My disco is now out of mot and needs a few quid spending to get it right so I'm tempted to sell it for spares put a few extra quid in and buy another one hopefully in slightly better nick, but looking on ebay, autotrader etc the prices people are asking is mad. I've seen a few 300's that look ok but they want 2-3k for them:eek:.

My question is what the hell is putting the prices up or are these people just asking money they are never gonna get?

here's a couple of examples,

1996 Landrover Discovery 300Tdi 5 Door Manual 7 seats on eBay (end time 11-Sep-10 09:18:40 BST)

1996 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY ES TDI AUTO BLUE on eBay (end time 16-Sep-10 19:54:35 BST)

Why not just do the work that needs doing

The jobs for the mot wouldn't be too bad but it's got the lt77 gearbox which has always had a bit of a crunch in 2nd & 3rd but it's getting worse and I don't think it 'll last another year so I didn't fancy doing the mot jobs and then have to pay out for a gearbox.

it comes from the likes of whatcar free valuations that aint been updated since god knows when...people get mislead...just look for one with history that aint been hammered..if you know ur discos you will be ok...i know of an l reg one with 78000 miles taxed n tested in good condition not been messed with for 900 0r nearest offer

That's what I mean mate, they've gone mad recently, think I'll keep it and do the work if I can find a cheap gearbox, I 'spose it's a case of better the devil you know.
