My steering wet very sloppy the other night whilst towing a trailer and had to drive the last couple of miles with not much control. Anyways it was the uj where it meets the steering box that had failed, splines have stripped causing lots of slipping. The current uj and steering member is aluminium and I think a steel one may be more durable. Does any body know if one of the steel lower uj's available will fit the aluminium steering member. I managed to refit the uj as a temporary fix but am keen to order a new one asap....THanks in advance....ps tried searching for answer no luck yet.

300tdi, I have found both types ally and steel for sale but want to know if they are compatible as the rest of it is pretty new and in good shape.
