If you phone Landrover Customer Care with your chassis number they will send out a letter giving the details of your alarm and immobiliser that you have fitted....done this for mine.

i've tried dealer, both local and where it was registered, but 'cos mine is old('98) they claim to hold no record of it on database, hence all this pullava.

its been a fckn headache tbh,
i haven't been insured for theft for ages now,
'cos no fooker believes me, and no-one is interested particularly,
with it being pre thatcham scheme,
and of course i have to pay to get an independent company to inspect and give me letter headed document, to satisfy direct line, or pay a fee to be nullify the current contract of insurance,
so of course the price, for fully comp which was cheap granted, is not cut and dry, done and dusted, so to speak, and i'm not fully insured, as i wished....it just sucks.
THATS DIRECT-LINE BTW.DIRECT-LINE DIRECT LINE DIRECT LINE DIRECT LINE.

The unit in the picture is just the alarm and central locking ecu - not the immobiliser.Depending on what is fitted to your car the immobiliser unit will either be on the back of the injector pump.(If there are 3 wires going to it.)Which is the later DDS type immobiliser,OR it could have a smart spider unit behind the radio on top of the heater box. Both types are activated by a code from the alarm ecu. Both are a pain in the ar-e,I'd just find a decent insurance company,or argue with them.Neither type is approved any longer, the DDS is a bit more secure,as the smart spider can just be bypassed with a bit of wire.
