Disco 1 gutter seals....

i have been battling water leaks for ages. I cant find a sectioned diagram of the roof-gutter line anywhere so i could figure out where it leaks.
I have sealed my gutters fully with isoflex, the bugger still leaked, i sealed under the gutters with sikaflex, it still leaked, i then sealed the trim strip on, this stopped it!
At the rear quarter where the straight run turns the corner there is a stupid taped joint hiding under the trim, THIS was where the water was getting in, i covered it in sikaflex and it worked. The trim was funnelling water from the gutter to under the lip wher it was sucked into the split tape. This is why it never leaked with the trim removed, i'd refit it thinking all was well and it would start leaking again.
Thing that ****es me off is that i now have sikaflex along the the under-gutter line at the back and its visible because i got so ****ed off after chasing it for weeks that I just run the mother of all beads of sealant along and it sagged while drying
I might try cleaning it up in the summer.
It still leaks but this time its the rear side windows, so they just need new rubbers fitting as they are both split at the corners.

ah the joyous sound of the land rover owner
all the land rovers I have ever had have leaked, my disco is the least spectacular, the worst was a S3 hard top, like Niagra it was.

i had series 3's years ago, i cut them some slack because it seemed impossible to stop the leaks, just the way its built.
But the Disco ? Its built in a more car-like fashion and even has carpet in it I'm leaving the windows until the summer, run out of money now

thanks mate i will have a look at the weekend, just finished completly siliconing up the 2nd sunroof hope it stops the water fall that apears every time it rains.

Both mine are fully sealed, never used the bloody things anyway. Disconnect the switches too to stop people trying to operate them.

Mine had always had a wet carpet in the front but no leaks from above and I always thought the leak came from somewhere in the bulkhead in front of the feet.
There are plates in the footwell on both sides on the floor as it starts to angle up.
On Sunday I went as a passenger to an off road day in my mates stripped out landy.
When we went through water I noticed it flooded through this plate which is only stitch welded in a couple of places.
I don't know why landrover put them there but they need welding up or sealing properly on both sides.

My disco is leaking around the centre part of the wind screen and around the rear view mirrors can't find any likey Ingress point, any ideas were it could from

Are the gutter trims removable? Both sides of mine are loose on the rear corners and this is where water is getting in. Can I just pull them of and bed them back on with tiger seal?

took my trims off and sealed the gutter
and painted the gutter so look as if the trims
still on

Unclip from under the gutter and lever outwards, they break easily in the cold though. Mine are fully sealed with sikaflex, ain't no way they are coming off again
