disarm airbag

hi can any one tell me how to disarm the passengers airbag on a freelander year 2001.many thanks maddog.

According to the main dealer, there's no way of disabling the passenger airbag on a pre-facelift freelander (not sure about the post-facelift ones). I asked about my '02 plate a couple of weeks ago to be told that I'd just have to put the child seat in the back!

If anyone knows differently, then I'd be very pleased!
