Greetings from South Cumbria! I bought a 1991 Defender 90 a few weeks back. It's no thing of beauty, but it seems to go OK. Fair few jobs on the list.
I've been messing around with cars for a fair few years, mostly old VWs, so I've got a few miles of MIG wire under my belt, if you know what I mean. That'll probably come in handy. This is my first Diesel and first 4x4. Well, not quite true, I had a Lancia integrale 10 years back.
The current fleet consists of the Defender, a 1983 VW Westfalia Camper, a 1966 Beetle (under full nut & bolt resto) and a 2009 Mini Clubman.
Free time is spent messing around with cars and walking up in the nearby Lake District. This weekend will be spent fitting sliding windows and changing some fluids and filters.
Hope to be spending a fair bit of time kicking around here - loads of knowledgeable folks on here. All seems very friendly too. Glad to be on board.
