DIN Mounts

Evening all,

I'm in the process of rejigging the dashboard in my S3, and currently the radio hangs from a plastic radio casing box under the center of the dashboard. However, I'm looking to expand into a 2 DIN unit, and this is proving a bit more interesting.

Does anyone have any interesting/nice layouts that involve a 2 DIN unit? Ideally it will hold a small touchscreen display for navigation and music/radio, or a slide out and fold up touch screen. I have a cubby box in the center seat, but it's not suitable for any DIN device. Just looking for ideas, urls, thoughts, etc.

I would give the unit a life of appox 5 mins if you go offroading, currently i have a jvc headunit that i have to remove before going offroad in wet or dusty conditions as the water or dust will kill a cd headunit, if you plan to wade over 3 feet you will need to mount the player either in the roof or so it is easy removable

Fair comment regarding that. The face off part does go crunnnnnnnnch each time I put it now and if you are in sandy/dusty conditions - forget CDs! Saying that though, I have done thousands of miles in sand and very bumpy conditions and my head units have survived (I just use an MP3 player rather than taking the risk that my CDs will get scratched up)
