Digital Clock Illumination ?

Hi Folks,

Long time lurker first time poster,I've got a 2000 (w) Freelander XDI 2.0,

Bit of a dumb question, the digital clock in the middle of the dash is illuminated all the time, it's the first time i noticed it tonight, whole car was in darkness but the clock was light ? is that normal or an indication of something is wrong ?

The only thing I've touched as far as electrics is concerned is pull the fuse for the heated rear window to check it any connection there ?

Mine being a 2001 Td4 is all dark when the ignition is off, when ignition is on the clock is illuminated (even without the lights being switched on).

Thanks for the info guys,

Now that i knew it shouldn't be on all the time, i went and had a better dig into why it was on, turns out the monkey** who put the mp3 player in it had tapped into the wire that feed info from the cd to the display
