Well i presume that the standard halfshafts to my diffs are ten spline, so i presume its a ten spline diff :eek:cant see much on mine but the rear diff does say rover on it if that helps. Are they any good and if not what will interchange with them. Its a v8 series2a with lt95 box. Id like to uprate them to lsd diffs or is it possible to fit arb lockers or such to these.
Im just trying to make it more go anywhereable.

series diffs are 10 spline, you can fit lsd's and arb diff lockers to it, its not cheap and its quite involved (correctly setting up a diff can be a bitch), kam diffs are also an option, unless you uprate your sespension you will still be getting cross axle.....

Cross axle, enlighten me a tad G-man, im new to all this but im starting to get in to it.
At the mo it only has parabolic springs and i think theyre procomp shocks. What do i need or should i just buy one a lot better specced?. Its just i like tinkering

a cross axle is where you have diagonally opposite wheels dangling in the air, as you have parabolics fitted there is not much more you can do to your suspension bar using 'revolver' shackles (of dubious legality)

a rear locking diff will overcome this to a degree as both wheels on the axle will be turning at the same speed

look at the black disco v the defender up the hill with the axle twister in the middle

Ok then, so can i get a ten spline locking rear diff, If so what is the best or the most common to go for

the most common locking diff i would say is the ARB (fitted to the reaar of that disco) but some folks swear by detroit diffs but the manufactures state they should not be used on anything with a wheelbase of less than 110 inches, KAM diffs work out maginally cheaper but require some big mods you your axle case........

the arb requires a pretty hardcore compressor to activate it (air operated hence the reason some people call them air lockers)
