Difficult to start after the engine is cold

Hi folks i have a reange rover p38 4.6 automatic, and i have problem with the start of my engine when is could. The temp here is not to low. 0-15 Celsius. After i start the car i can turn of and on without a problem. I have to take 5-8 sec the starter on to turn the engine on..... If i continue in this way i can damage the starter and other components like battery or other things like catalytic... Pleas helppppp

Take a look at the ECU temperature sensor. Connection to it or unit itself.

I have to check with a computer for the value?? or the connection from sensor to ecu???

Make sure the connector is clean. If it's dirty, clean it and see what you get. If the sensor has failed the wrong starting fuel settings will be being used by the ECU.

I cleaned the conector and change the temp sensor and nothing... When engine is cold take 5-8 second to start....

Exhaust manifold/gasket ok? When my manifold gasket was blowing it struggled to start, fine when engine was hot. Couldn't hear the blow when driving, only with the bonnet open.

Yes i have repaired that... Could be the catalytic because i hear a sound from catalytic like is broken

sorry to hijack the thread but is it the same thing with the diesels wammers my 2.5 is becoming a bugger to start cold takes a few cranks to get it going had new glow plugs/ injectors battery ok

Lpg needs coolant heat from vapouriser zen plays with lpg injection

Yes. But check to glows cheapies don't last long sometimes.

Crap from memory bpr6es ngk ( but check) also 0-15 degrees c the vapourier for lpg will not work until coolant is hot-run on petrol till warm
