I'm looking for a new intercooler for my landrover as the current one is bust.

I have a TD5 2000 2.5 discovery automatic.
I've been looking on eBay to try and find a new intercooler and there is mixed info on which one I need.

Because it's an automatic would I need a different intercooler to the standard?
Also, would I be able to use one from a previous year? The eBay search says an item fits however it is labelled as 94-98.

Earlier one is for 300Tdi or 200Tdi, Td5 is different.

Would it matter if I have an automatic or will the intercooler fit manual and auto?
I've been told that there is something in the way with an auto but im unsure.

If you want the larger/performance i/c then you have to choose for auto cos it's a bit smaller than the manual due to the transmission oil cooler but the standard one fits all modells

As I understand it
Std cooler fits all
Aftermarker auto cooler fits all incl the manual versions
Aftermarket manual cooler being larger only fits the manual as said above due to the trans cooler
