Hi all,
Fitted a rebuilt lt230 1.2 box to my defender and upon putting the switches onto the new box, the normal diff lock switch was too small compared to the larger thread in the new transfer box.
I thought, oh it must use the other type switch (low/high/reverse switch). This type of switch fits the larger thread of the new box, but works opposite way around.
when out of diff lock the light illuminates, when in diff lock the light goes out.
Swapping the two wires around makes no difference, the switch must just work the opposite way.

So my question is, what switch do I need, or is there a thread adapter available to fit the normal diff lock switch (prc2911) into the newer housing.

Are puma/tdci lt230’s using the old style switch or do they have a newer one that would fit?

attached is a photo of the box, with the larger type switch (img500011) fitted but it doesn’t work the right way.

This a photo of their rebuilt boxes with the diff lock switch. But has a stainless nut or adapter under the switch? I have tried getting in contact but have not had any replies.

later box has the larger switch, that switch is prc2911 with a nut to lock it

Thanks James-
Do you happen to know the part number for the larger switch I can’t seem to find them just by searching for diff lock switch.
That Is what I require! many thanks

are you sure igm500011 doesnt work correctly last one i fitted did

Physically it fits fine, it is just working the opposite to how it should. Swapping the wires does not change it either.

So out of difflock the light is illuminated, in difflock the light goes out.

Turned out to be a simple fix.
Double checked the switch working outside of the box.
Turned out it was sitting to far down into the box, causing the switch to be de-pressed almost permanently. Moving it in & out of difflock momentarily turned the light on & off.
Simply spaced the switch with a washer.
Job done.
