What is the best way to test if the center diff lock is working. When i engage it the light doesn't come on. I have tested the lamp and there is no fault there. Any ideas.

I'ts Saturday, go have a bit of fun while you analyise this, accompanied by another landrover, find a spot somewhere that would requre a little cross axle work and see if both front and back are working.;)

Easiest way is to park up in difflock low or high, neutral main box, no handbrake but chocked wheels, jack one wheel up and try to turn it.

If the jacked wheel won't turn (or won't try to turn the other wheels) then centre difflock works ... but brakes must be off and gears in neutral ... ;)

If it turns then difflock isn't working. It's also worth having someone sit in the vehicle and take it out of difflock then turn again and see what happens.

More fun my way.:D

Perhaps the switch in the gear box responsible for the diff light is malfunctioning.

I had this problem, diff locked perfectly but the light didnt turn on, change the switch and it was back to normal.
