Diff Bearings

Hi i have been advised by the aa yesterday that the bearings have gone in the rear diff on my m reg 3.9v8 auto disco.

What would you guys suggest? someone suggested will be easier to get another axle and put on????

It's easier to swap the diff, provided the rest of the axle is OK.
There's at least 2 currently for sale on e-bay.

how do i know how many spleens it has? or is it not applicible i.e standard 10 spleen for v8

I hope it aint got any spleens!
It will have either 10 or 24 splines and I don't know which for a V8 Disco.
Easiest way is to whip out a half-shaft and count em!
