diesel suddenly wont start

Thanks for everyones input.It turns out it was out of sync.

Now up and running and I couldnt be happier.i had the rf reciever disconected and have invested in a sync mate just incase it happens again.Because im sure that green flag are kind of peed off with me by now.

Anyone in the southeast can I recomend lrr london range rover.they helped me out no end with this honest genuine people.

As I found out when my p38 got recovered and taken there they have a stockpile of 2nd hand and new parts.Big thank you to everyones input fantastic site for any landy owner !

is the stop fuel solanoid sicking. i have the same problem. I think it might be the fuel shut off solanoid sticking, It,s in the high pressure fuel pump on the engine so no fuel flows to the injectors ,that is the problem. I will let you know if this is the problem with my 1997 p38 auto ( has been a tricky car ever since i got it)

Might be a good idea to replace the RF receiver with the latest spec before it burns out your locks.

Dont think any version or year of the P38 will turn over if the immobiliser is active.

As far as i am aware Diesels don't. Gems don't, but Thors do.

May well be correct.

My understanding : Immobilser active all models.Engine will not turn over
: Out of sync Gems will not turn over ,Thor and Diesel do.

Out of sync Gems will turn over, wont fire up. Been there.

Out of sync Gems ie no engine check light illuminated on instrument cluster will not turn over.Seen it on a number of vehicles

No matter what engine is in the car,

If the immobiliser is active it will display this, " Engine immobilised. Press Remote".

For loss of sync between the becm & engine management,

Gems. Non crank.
Diesel. Crank but no start.
Bosch motronic, crank but no start.
