Diesel Oil, on a TD4?

Hi, my freelander td4 2002, is gaining 1 liter Oil, in the sump in a couple of days. Do you Think it could be a leaking HP pump?

I had a rover 75 do it same engine was running fine until it suddenly started smoking and cut out pull the dipstick out and smell it if it smells of diesel it is a very high chance the high pressure pump is letting diesel into the oil not to bad a job to change but you need the tool as to not drop the timing Chain into the sump
