I'm convinced i'm leaking deisel from somewhere, have done FPR and no leeks from there or any of the pipes under the bonet is there any other common places for diesel leaks.

Is there any comon problem inside the rocker cover?
 
in what way do you think you are loosing diesel smell, stains on the drive, or MPG ???

the pipes around the tank can leak and diesel can leak in the rocker cover but you will see the oil level rising
 
Not sure fuel guage seems to go down quick and seems to move on short journeys. Also did fpr but that's not leaking now. what and how do you check injectors for leeks?
 
Much more likely to be the leak-off pipes than the injectors. They are smal bore rubber pipes with like a material covering, about 4-5" long going between each injector. They get brittle and crack with age, causing poor starting and 'lumpy' running ... worth changing anyway. Don't buy from LR, go to a motor factors and get diesel leak-off pipe, about a fiver or less for a metre.

Thanks will have a look do you need a new rocker cover gasket? It's a td5
 
there are no leak off pipes on a td5 the fuel return is an internal part of the head the seals can fail on the injectors and cause a leak or the head can crack meaning a new head £1400+ but as said there will be a rise in oil leavel if there is a leak

will check oil first thing as car is still warm now have just come back and left it runnng checked fuel filter no leaks nothing dripping at all under the landy. What seals go on these if it the o rings as if it is deisel in the oil I will need to fix it tomorrow night.
 
Before you do anything else, my advice would be to fill, absolutely fill the fuel tank and do a few hundred miles, then refill to the same level - to give you a basis for a more accurate basis of calculating the fuel consumption.

Maybe you don't have a problem, maybe it's just a matter of getting used to the vehicle ?

but i agree with him ^^^^^ any leak caused buy the injectors would be so small you will never notice

After I changed fpr I brined it did 100 miles and brimmed it again got 28.9 mpg on mixed run so I thought great sorted. Then since briming it I have 120 miles and it's between the half and 3/4 mark seems like a long wY down for 120 miles I'm expecting at least 500 a tank
