replace it with modern crap and see what happens. Be every few months thereafter. I payed nearly ^^ for 1metre length but still worth it. Easy to find in a huge coil like 30metres. All fitted on fine by hand - except injector 4? Had to shave one side, warm it up and squeeze it on with long nose pliers (which Alan did prewarn me)

I’ve ran the fuel tank right down to fumes as diesel is bit scarce lately. Now lift pump sounds little unhappy and is an enormous hiss when I take cap off. Where exactly is the breather for the tank or is that only on the petrol?

Mine hisses on fill up when it gets close to reserve. Living on the edge matey... That's the hiss of discust it gives you for letting it get so low.. :p

No hiss from mine ever. Sure you've not put petrol in by mistake?!

I don't think the fuel cap fits well enough to warrant a breather for diesel? I don't recall seeing one now you mention it but I might have forgotten.

Shhhh for God's sake Alan!!! Every bloody time :p;)
Mine will hiss as the cap is unscrewed and the fuel level is on the reserve lamp.
I can't remember if mine hisses, hardly do any milage these days.I remember the Classic steel tank was sucked in due to a blocked one way breather valve. Once changed I pressurised the tank with an airline to blow it back in shape.Perhaps the P38 plastic tank just flexes.;)
