i run a different make 4x4 on veg with no problems what so ever with a bosch pump and injectors same as the p38. with a little research you will find its common for older pumps to leak with the introduction of low sulphur deisel. the sulphurs main purpose was to help the seals stay soft. remove the sulphur seals dry up pumps leak.

reseal kits readily avalible and are viton rubber google it. i have resealed many a bosch ip44 injector pump.

i use new svo and have never had an issue but i agree that poorly filtered wvo will kill a pump quicker than a quick thing.
