As title suggest, alisport are doing a gas injection kit for landrovers.

Anyone tell me how it works an is it worth anything?

Never seen that, so can't help. But imagine the hassle with your insurance company! :) It isn't even a simple petrol to LPG conversion, it's gas injection for diesel. I would *guess* that your premium would be more per year that the diesel cost you'd save. But I'd be interested in knowing more. How much does mpg improve etc...

I had one fitted to 300tdi has a vapour draw tank which is not included in the alisport kit, then there is a pressure reducer and flow block which is boost pressure activated, it then feeds a small amount of vapour into the inlet hose just before the turbo. There is a cab fitted on/off and safety switch. The flow is adjustable but be aware too much flow will melt your pistons. Give a good power boost but didn't notice any better mpg but maybe that's cos I was too busy hooning it around

There have been experiments with buses and trucks in and around London i believe, in order to reduce emissions. But last time i heard it was not approved for general use and therefore illegal in the UK.

Although it is not approved by the LPGA, and as such, won't appear on the national LPG register, it is legal to run a dual fuel diesel car. Insurance is often an issue though.

it works by as siad injecting propane along with the diesel, because you get a bigger bang and a cleaner burn you dont use so much diesel,in 38ton trucks they found the fuel consumption went from average 8mpg to just under 15mpg,,they ran six trucks with it fitted and saved 33k per year on each truck on fuel costs alone, also oil change intervals were found to be not required as often as they were achieving nearly a 98percent burn far less particulates(carbon were contaminating the oil,

Somthing that improves power, higher mpg and lower emitions
Im shocked its so rare!! Ohh hang on the govement wont like us spending less on fuel will they
Wonder if thats why its not approved

Bingo was hie name-o

The Gov duty has been frozen on LPG, but they still get some from it....only time will tell if/when they increase the price and start slamming the duty on it like they do to petty and doozel!

Depends on how many people start useing it
When they relise there loesing money cos less people are buying petrol.
Theyll put the tax up.
Itll end up like china (or is it japan?) where over half the population just cant afford to drive because of the tax
