No then peeps, I'm looking for some help and a bit of guidance from those in the know.
I would like some info please on the diesel auto freelander 2.
The things to check and lookout for particular to the auto.
Thank you to anyone who can help.
;)

Check everything. They're difficult and expensive to fix, so make sure everything works as it should.

Modern autos are generally more reliable than the clutch in a conventional manual box. Just make sure it's had the fluid changes on schedule, and the box should be ok.
Very good point, a lot of the autos I see come through the garage (none of them freelander autos) have never had the oil changed in the boxes. Most of them being older than 10yrs....
Thankfully on my '38 it was done quite regularly by the previous owner who was a land-rover nut:cool:
If I do go up the road of the diesel auto
Fl2 that'll be on the list of questions for sure. ;) thanks again :D

Electrical problems, with the steering lock and body crash module stops it starting ,usual door lock trouble ,but other than Than that it's not a bad auto

A client of mine has a fl2 manual, it's a nice 4x4 and nicer than the first edition I think. ;)
It's a typical love hate relationship with the freelander 2 when it works it works well but when stupid little problems crop up ,then you hate it ,I live in spain so the auto is great for the environment here a mix of road and tracks and the fuel economy is not that bad

Thats landrovers for you:D,
We'll see how it goes, to buy one in France is mega money and 5000€ doesn't seem to get much nice with kilomètres that don't match the sun's distance

Check all 6 forward and reverse gear works. Check manual gear selection works. Check kick down works. Gear changes should all be smooth. The SD4 has more power than the TD4.
