Hi Landyzone,

Lost my key here, ordered a new one - now trying to reset immobiliser to new keycode in my 2003 Freelander1 SE3.

Using the X-431 Diagnostic Tool PAD II: http://launchtechnsw.com.au/launch/images/detailed/0/_8781_Pad_II_ad_A4v2-50.jpg

Updated LANDROVER software to V32.40

The data stream seems to work and talk to the car but it cannot find the immobilser when I'm connected via Bluetooth: http://blog.uobd2.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/launch-x431-diagun-iii-connections.jpg

When I plug micro-usb to usb (no Bluetooth involved) it does not connect at all.

Has anyone had experience getting a diagnostic tool to recognize immobiliser in the Freelander 1? Last attempt here before I give back the computer.

Thanks in advance for any advise :D :monitor_punch:

Thanks Hippo! Interesting that the X-431 showed a SECURITY section but no options involving the key after searching every menu selection

I think you'll struggle to find a device which says it can program keys as well as actually do it with no problems.

Re the X431 [£65?] - I was inquiring about these code readers / diagnostic tools prior to Christmas but drew little information. Like many my budget doesn't run to Hawkeye [ wish it did!].

Could you post comments about the things it can do and how well? Have you any experience with other tools of this kind? Is it easy to use? Is the online setting up easy and well supported? Is it value for money?

The Hawkeye [£265] seems to be well regarded, and the iCarsoft i930 [£90] seems to get a thumbs up too.
