diagnostic results

hi all had a new motor is not starting now its a p38 bm diesel had it on a diagnostic its reading immobiliser fault is it just a case of taking it to a landrover specialist and having it reset on the computer has anyone else had this problem nobody really seems to want to give me any help even on here

Hi Mate, could be the immobiliser control module needs reprogramming, so you need someone with dianostic's capable of doing this...

its lost its rolling code, and needs a resync. you can buy your own resync box, or as you say put it in and get it done. tis only a two min job..

thanks for your help is this a common fault ive only had the jeep a week and already its let me down. how much are the the resync boxes??? and how do they work?? and any ideas how much a garage will charge me to do this??

i rung landrover up and they want £139.00 per hour

welcome to the world of land/range rovers they will always let ya down especially when you need them most and its not a jeep they are crap american things

mightjust need to have battery lead removed for two minutes then refitted, then reboot system by locking then unlocking.

as you have not got your addy in your profile, try a inddy. a resync box is around £120 yes its a com fault. did he give you any codes? if so where they p1667 p1672? taking leads off will not help you, it needs resync.. also try the rangie page with your faults..
