Following my recent posts concerning problems with my EAS......thought it might be useful to update you.

Symptom. Despite new Pump three months ago and new airbags a month ago vehicle barely done 500 miles since, vehicle on stopping with engine off, went into the higher mode. Re start engine, suspension levelled to normal, at 50 mph plus went into motorway mode then thereafter struggled to gain height eventually coming to rest on its bump stops. Despite running software , no faults found, vehicle would not budge.

Vehicle went to LR specialist....

Fault. Rear height sensor giving misleading reading hence the respective valve venting continuously. This inturn caused the EAS pump to run continually hence new pump worn out in very short time.

Remedy. New height sensor, new pump. Tests for leaks completed and all good.

Went to collect vehicle today and drove it home. Vehicle went into motorway mode as normal but it took quite some time (about a mile) to come out and go to normal height. I parked up left the engine running , vehicle in normal height mode, took off the cover to the EAS and found that the pump was very hot nearly too hot to touch. The pump was quiet for about a minute then started pumping for about 10 seconds, stopped and then the valve block vented. this repeated every minute. One assumes this is normal but just didnt like the new pump being so hot.

Anyway, watch this space, hopefully cured.

Thank to you all for your inputs, the jury however is still out.

Regards

Dave:)
