Well... I've never been to pay and play, and I really had no idea what to expect. Having been told that it would break my motor I cleverly made it break down yesterday so I could jump in with Spyderman... (thats my story anyhow).

Bit dryer than normal I was told, so the going was good. Now he did make one comment about a large mud hole. I think the comment was "If you go in... you don't drive out".

Mikesababy, perhaps you would like to take up the story at this point? Here's a picture to help you along.

now lets just clarify.... this is his "daily use for getting to work and back, seeing the girlfriend and all those essential running around; just purchased; lets have a little fun" car isn't it?

Over to you mikey!

hey well im the girlfriend of the idiot that put us all in that puddle how nice of him. well just to let everone know the car is nearly back up and running after being towed home all it needed was a clean out and a new head set so not as bad as we thought it was going to be just waiting to find out if its done the turbo too but dont think it did and just to let you all see the before we went into the puddle i have a pic when we looked down into it then the car went down too.

Good to hear it's not totally dead. Hopefully a lesson learnt. Talk to people who've been before. When you've got it going again, come and do a few lanes and learn the ropes.

Hey! It's great news that the motor's not as badly damaged as it might have been. Look forward to seeing you on Sunday, as long as my Shogun's repaired, just waiting for the bits to turn up at the moment.

hey i cant come this sunday unless its after 10 at night. thats no fair. boyfriend still thinks he will do that puddle again at devils pit on 4th may so lets just c if he is stupid enough to. do u think having a snorkel would make much difference to getting through there.

Sexyjade4eva.
A snorkle would have stopped the engine from being hydraulic'd, but there is no way his Disco will get through that mud hole. I've seen full on challenge trucks well stuck in there. Best advice if he's going to have another go is wear waders and put the tow rope on first, because that's the only way he's getting out.

Mikeysabes,
Tyres looked good on your Disco.
Shame it sat in the car park all day, after just one circuit of the Green Course.
Let's see what you do with them on Sunday.
I won't be at the Pit next time, I'm going to stick to Whaddon.
The clean up job takes too long at the Pit, plus Whaddon doesn't get all jammed up, you can drive anywhere. Way less damaging too.

Yeah, my cars dried all white like :(
Just got in from work, now im going to give it a clean

And, i did do more than 1 route in mine :D

+ hes defo going to try that puddle again i believe, i was round his last night, he was just taking his wing off to start on making a snorkel, he reckons that puddles not going to get the better of him next time LOL

I wanna try whaddon sometime soon with you lot too,

found some cheap discos on the net today, seriously thinking about gettin something cheap to ABUSE at devils pit, not got a quote yet to add it to my current policy though, if its cheap enuff though ill have a V8 soon roll caged up ready for them sheer drops ;)

I plan to try out whaddon too, I think I'kk wait until I have a throwaway car before I drive the pit.

Mikesababes: You have some fine equipment in just the car and tyres... learn to make the best use of those and you'll be in a much better position to choose extras later when you know what differences each of them will make.

Yeah i know,
But i dont wanna wreck my disco over the pit :(
+ i cant really have a hardcore offroader and still use it to go to work in
finding these range rovers for like £300, its the kind of thing i can tow to devils pit ABUSE, and not worrying about if i wreck it, i cant get to work the next day,lol

Expensive mistake!

Nevermind, Full on off-road looks and feels great. A standard disco is simply are not designed for this type of thing, nor are standard land rovers. When offroading I hear alot of people put down series vehicles bacause of their old design especially (range rover drivers) :-( , but to be honest they are better offroad than most. Listen to those that drive them they are usually wiser!

I have seen a full on AWDC comp motor on 36 inch simex's stuck in there for 4 hours it took 3 of us to winch him out, (and remove a boulder that used to lurk beneath the water) a couple of weeks later he tried again, I didn't offer to winch him out nor did my mate, when we left he was still in there with a hyd engine and no electrics or winch working. That was my last experience of Devils pit won't be going again. Jai

Hiya Muddy Duck,

Can't do this weekend, have plans involving a new axle, however in 2 weeks time i will be up for it defo,

Jai

Jai, thanks for the info :D

Im still eager to get an offroader though, i dont mean getting one next week, but its on the list lol

i cleaned my motor last night, mud/clay got walked all through my parents carpets from the driveway, and this happens everytime i clean it and there getting a bit annoyed about it :(

another reason why i want something i can abuse, then just leave it sat somewhere till the next week for more abusing

id even think about an SJ etc,

But 1 day ill be trying them hills at devils pit, they look insane :D
