Disco 3 (LR3) Detailing again

So it came to pass long long time ago i promised gary i would give his car a clean and today was the day. Only time for a quick clean with minor paint correction, polish and wax coat......came up nice just needs the plastics doing which gary will sort out.

Needed a wash so it got snow foamed and clay barred

Had some bad scuffs on the nearside

After correction still needs polishing also took out some bad scratches along both nearside doors

Bonnet after iv removed old swirl marks needs ploshing tho

Paint corrected polished and waxed

The bonnet again after correction

This was the bonnet at the beginning pretty much the same all over the car. Well im happy with the results still needs a bit more work but Gary is happy and thats what counts im sure he will be along later with his over set of photos.

But indeed as u say won’t need it for a while, the meguires DA is more expensive than I thought

May I be cheeky please , would u mind sending me a list of what u used pretty plse

Can then at least get the snow applicator , microfibre towels inc the gloves , allowing me to slowly build up a decent detailing kit

So THAT is what you are supposed to do to an off-road vehicle.
I will calmly state that I have washed my first D1 precisely twice, since we got it in 2004, my D2 not at all since acquired in 2014, and my latest D1 not at all since bought September 2107.
I do do all mechanical maintenance, absolutely on time and properly but I am ashamed to say I cannot be hariissed to do the washing etc. Then I hardly ever take em off road. Mind you, the D2 belonged to a chap who only used it offroad, taking guns to and off shoots, but he says he jetwashed it every time. Still found a pile of salty mud underneath it!

The claybar thing is interesting, write up in LRM about it this month, or is it last month. Prices differ like mad and Meguiars was not the best value for money I seem to remember. Not that I've ever used one. Used to use T-Cut, that's how old I am! On ordinary cars and usually just before sale, or when taking kit cars to a show.

I use brambles, twigs and if it’s a particularly stubborn patch the clay doesn’t shift, I find some rock rash tends to do the trick

The only time I ever wash a car is when I sell it. The local scrapyard owner is quite fussy.
