hi

Well today @biketeacherdave came round today to clean and polish the D3 , wow, just wow, can’t get over the difference and can’t even begin to say how grateful I am for Dave taking the time and effort doing this for me

Learnt after starting to clean it that the black is metallic, go figure

Dave taught me a massive amount , ref clay bars, polish waxes etc

Sun alas really started to get hot but omg can’t get over the difference

Had a good few scratches that were removed

Wished to share the piccies and a massive thks to Dave for being a very kind gent

Thks a million Dave

What did he use on the plastic. I've heard of people using baby oil etc, or did he just clean them?

Hi

Nothing has been used on the plastics yet , I’ll be sorting them out next week

Will post up some pics after I’ve done them for u

So spent a few hours on it today

Removed the bonnet letters, cleaned the glass with window cleaner and a Stanley blade to remove all the old glue from window tints, etc

Also improved it a lot for the windows to raise and lower and there’s now no junk on the glass

Windscreen scuttle and A pillar Trims I sprayed don’t look to bad

Noticed my passenger headlight has some condensation inside , will check that out

Door handles need sorting , need covers for them as paint has faded too much

Had enough now for today, sun came over the front of the house anyway

Will need to do the bonnet again as I can just see the outlines of the lettering still

Very nice Job Gary.

Gtechniq G4 would do the plastics good ;)

Many Thks , I’ve been using the meguires , I’ve only put one coat on there so far

Windscreen scuttle and A pillar trims I used the Hycote paint so won’t have to worry about that fading

One day I intend to remove all the trim and spray all of it ,

That would be a good permanent solution ;)

Probably will spray mine in the future ;)

Indeed that’s what I also thought , seeing its not that difficult removing the panels, can then use my air compressor, put them out in the garden and spray all the trims, arches , bumpers , door trim etc so then at least it would be a permanent fix

Might not do it this year as I wish it sort the brake hoses / aircon and finish off the electrics for the centre panel

Would u colour match urs or also do them black , thks

Really enjoy these posts and amazing how much knowledge can be picked up

Sounds like a plan, my compressor is due a service lol ;)

I'll be spraying them black - torn whether to to Gloss or Matt TBF ;)

Indeed , mine is like a flat Matt if that makes sense, I liked the hycote paint but only do it in cans

Think u can get the paint samples from companies if ur unsure of colour finish
