Disco 3 (LR3) desperate help with electric seat

I don't know how much of the D2 systems were adopted and adapted as a basis for the D3, but if that's the case then the motors are "reversable" by reversing the polarity of the two wires to each.
On the D2 there are four motors for each seat; seat backwards/forwards, seat front edge up and down, seat back recline and seat rear edge up and down.
There is also an air pump for inflating the lumbar support.
The seat heaters, seat and seat back are shown to be wired in series.
The drawing also shows a relay somewhere to power up the whole shootin' match.
As I said, I don't know whether any of the earlier D2 techniques were transfered to the D3, but it might just help.

thks and i think ur spot on with regards to the motors

put a pic of the wiring memory module

so after a swapped all the covers over etc thought , that's the hard bit over, yeh right , lol

now there's a thought , would have to use screws , got to do the job properly :D:p

trouble is i would be worried having a candle , in case i fart then blow up the uking airbags :rolleyes:

Right Gary although the wiring is there, there may be some relays missing & that's why your not getting the power you need in the right places  Just a thought:rolleyes::rolleyes:

been sitting in the car and going through wire by wire

looks as though i will have to cut a few wires, adding some wiring , then take a live and ground over to the main memory ecu module

will cut up the passenger seat loom which will give me the plug, can the use that to plug one into the multi connector then the other end solder it to the main loom

got to find my soldering iron and shrink sleeving

didnt realise it seems a popular upgrade with replacing manual seats with electric ones

funny enough on the passenger seat all the wiring is there

if you get a chance get yourself some electric heated seats. in this weather they are brill. i can recommend them :)

i never thought of that , what a bloody good idea :rolleyes::rolleyes::p:p:D

oh hang on, bloody hell , that's a bit of luck , these have the heating element in them , who would have thought :cool:

Did you buy the base model or sunmit?

yes bought the 7 x seater base model, as the hse was considerably more expensive to buy and insure

as i hadn't owned a disco before i thought it better to get one without the sat nav and extra electronics

got this as a project and the price reflected that , after i've done the electric seat upgrade, just need to then sort the airbags and replace all the cam belts

has only done 98,000 miles with fsh and chassis is solid

like when i had series landies , needed some work doing them up

keeps me busy and enjoy doing the work :D:D
