 hi to you all,i am totally new to this,so if i mess up please excuse me. I really need help,i have had a P38 R/R "98" for about a year now and all of a sudden i have a problem with selecting PARK there is a LOUD clunking and clicking noise that is coming from the transfer box and the vehicle will not drive at all. I have had so many ideas given to me that i have followed, such as fuses, variable resistor etc, even down to buying another R/R to change over parts. Has ANYONE out there had the same problem or would you know what it could be,i will be so grateful. Thanks to you all, Pamela

transfer box chain is common, normally a banging noise first

park isnt like a brake inconventional way it is a pawl that is pushed into castleated wheel in the rear of the gearbox right in front of transfer box ,if selected while wheels rolling can easily shear its bolts ,is there any warning lights ,what happens when you put it in d or reverse

is it ,as i dont think ive ever come across one thats broken ,not sying they cant but is it common

They stretch as far as I'm aware, another point is does it move between low and high selections?
