Following broken gearbox discussion on my new 109 - went out this morning to investigate what was broken, and why previous owner had given up ownership.

Started him up (first time as always) and engaged first - but nothing happened, tried reverse nothing,,,,,,,,,,,

 Thought the noises were familiar from off-roading my 110, when finished not putting the transfer back into high properly,,,,,,,,,

;) heart now racing with potential excitement, reached for the yellow knob, shoved it forward a good inch with a nice satisfying clunk,,,,

Clutch in the 90 went the other day when i was reversing out of the drive....neighbour was desperate to come out so I pushed the 90 back in the drive. fixed it in the afternoon by making sure it was in high ..... d'oh

(min dyou I was panicked he isn't right keen on me and he hates land rovers( anyone up for a meet at his owse?

Mind you I bought a landy cheap off the bay 600 quid with a broken half shaft, drove it home 64 quid spent (bought a diff cause i was feeling generous) and sold for 950 that was a nice result :)

When my dad bought his austin champ the bloke selling said that the gearbox and drivetrain was knackerd. My dad bought for £250 and we towed it round the corner, my dad mucked about with the levers and=bingo, it worked.
1 week later he was at a military show in it.
