Hi All

I'm new here so be gentle :D
Having owned a 110 for 8 years and selling it 2'ish years ago, I'm looking at getting another Landy.

I'm going to look at a 1995 90 300tdi tomorrow but it appears it has a disco (gearstick is where the centre would be?) box fitted. Having read a few things about a Defender with a Disco box, I still can't make out why people are dead against it. Can anyone tell me why people say not to do it and what are the consequences and is it best left alone ?

Many thanks

Is it still drivable beingbthatbfar back ?
I only ask because its a 6 hour round trip for me to view it and that's a long way to go to find out its awkward and your elbow hits the bulkhead :(

i wouldnt bother unless 300 tdi has been fitted properly ie up against the rad like lr did as its going to have a lot of bodged parts not readily available ,unless its very cheap

@Jamesmartin
The engine is the original one, he just had the gearbox replaced as fifth & reverse went. Do I assume the engine will still be in the right place ?

Thanks

in that case it wouldnt be too hard to fit def box or modify that one ,gear stick will be where front edge of seat box is
