Hi,
do anyone here experienced problems while driving in 6th gear with some strange vibrations?
My Defender , 2007 year, only when driving in 6th gear had some strange vibrations , mostly at speed 80-100km . Driving faster the vibrations are still present but probably because of a different frequency those aren't so obvious .
thanks

I have a MY13 110, I noticed similar vibrations this morning and came here to check out a possible answer.

Again only in 6th gear, between 90-130km/h when I back off the accelerator and again when I depress the accelerator there's a metallic rubbing feeling coming through the pedal and a distinct vibration noise.

Any answers / solutions much appreciated.

The six speed GETRAG gearbox is a "filled for life" lubrication, but deemed to be no more than 125k miles before needing a change. This does not sit well with conventional Landy think so many will say NOOOOO! but as that is the official service requirement, maybe service mechanics also overlook routine oil level checks? So check your oil level and decide what mileage you want to change oil at. I suspect high milage and lack of oil / worn out oil could be the problem?

My 2008 has 34000 miles, never been offload or worked hard. The drivetrain is as tight as a nats ass but this weekend I got some vibration whilst in 6th gear on overrun, no other gear was affected.

It has however got a full 3" lift kit with all QT castor correction arms etc... to suit. The props are wide angle but Ashcroft suggest it really needs a Double Cardon fromt prop as a wide angle won't oscillate correctly at high speed, therefore making the vibration apparent.
