"My 200tdi 110 is a getting a little long in thetooth so I’m now thinking maybe converting it to a v8."

Fix the 200tdi engine, just seems a lot easier to me.:)
The 200 won’t be going anywhere any time soon. Wants a rebuild but would like to keep the 110 on the road and have at least a little fun. Only irreversible bit is the new engine mounts but even that can be corrected with a spot of welding

Also I’m suffering withdrawals after selling my old v8 disco a few years ago. Absolutely adored it especially the loud button but I had 2 issues with it. The economy which is just part and parcel with a v8 and the loud button. And the god awful auto. At least with this setup I’ll be on a manual with it instead :). At least then I can live with the economy which shouldn’t be too bad provided I behave myself. The 200 in it at the minute isn’t really the best example for economy due to it being pretty clapped out!

yes but disco lt 77 is same apart from gear stick arrangement as defender lt77 v8 box just disco is short stick defender long stick, you can get a adapter spigot to extend disco selector shaft so def long stick top will fit

Just been looking on Ashcrofts. They do an adaptor for an r380 but not an lt77. Is it something simple to make up or can I get the part from elsewhere?

Thanks

adaptor?
Think shaft is not compatible with the V8 spigot, in length and size.
Unless it’s a 380 out of a V8, with the right bellhousing then no adaptor needed.

I’m using the lt77 from the discovery v8. Just converting to long stick which is the issue. I can use the turret off the defender lt77 but there’s an adaptor which I’m not 100% sure on how to fit
