Help! we're in the process of fitting disco 200tdi into my trusty crusty series3. we've tried several different solutions to connect the throttle pedal to the pump, and decided that a defender pedal is the way to go. all i need to do now is find one! does anybody have one that they would like to sell? i'm in the new forest area. many thanks

what linkage do you have on your series 3 the rod linkage or the cable linkage? if you have the cable on you can get a universal cable and make it work, its an easier way and if you have a hand throttle you can keep that too

its got the rod linkage on it. the whole series linkage seems like a very awkward way of doing a very simple thing! so i've decided to take it all off and use a simple defender pedal thanks!

i think your best bet would be to use the series doooooooozel one, it will look right for a start and you will be able to have a hand throttle for holding fast idle without the need to hold your foot on the pedal

its not fitted with hand throttle,or any throttle at the moment! i'm not worried about using the series linkage to look 'right'as it now has the wrong engine in it!. i am definately going to use a defender pedal.

ffs the hand throttle is the best bit of kit you can have!!!! when your jump starting a motor off yer landy you can do it on yer own! plus if you fit a PTO you can run hydraulics off it, without a hand throttle you cant do it!

gman as i see it all muddydisco is looking for is help finding a peddle box for a defender so he can fit the throtle i think you are trying to teach someone to suck eggs as md is a fully trained mechanic

you'll not get a pedal box...........its a flappy fanny pedal that bolts to the footwell, i'd make me own if i were you it'd save looking for one

the other option is give RGB landrover a try he breaks landies and last time i went in he had loads od defenders with rotten chassis and bulkheads

i still maintain using a series 3 diesel pedal is a far better solution than using a defender one

i used the cable that went to the old leaver on my pump and had to cut and weld some nuts and washers to the 200tdi pump ill get you some pics when i get it back its having the pump done :D:D
