Hi all, urgent problem! Just re chassis’in my 90, engine all back in and everything connected up. But won’t start:
- power to all fuses
- no power to fuel pump
- Engine won’t turn over.

many ideas...

Even those little ones with ring terminals that go on a bolt on the driver's side of the transfer case? They're easy to forget.

Are you getting anything at all? Any dashboard lights when you turn the ignition key? If you switch on and pump the accelerator, will it flash the engine light and do a purge cycle?

On my (still working!) TD5, with the ignition on the fuel pump runs for a short while and then switches itself off if the engine isn't started after a minute or so. So if you're looking for a live feed to the pump do it just after turning the key.

Thanks guys, I have checked all.
- collision switch: how do you know if it’s activated and can it be rest. Had the bulkhead off completely so could be that...
- injector harness: I think it’s connected (front corner of the rocker cover)

Had a little diagnostic play and this is where I’m up to:
- ignition on: nothing but 3 lights - oil, battery, fuel
- no noises, no crank, no fuel pump buzz
- earth: I believe are all on, Main battery strap to chassis, bulk head to chassis, 2 x thins to transfer box and 1 x thin Harness (Ecu)

after playing around a little is appears to be a problem on the main relay:
- 30a fuses keeps blowing (main rely)
- Disconnect all relays, replaced 1 by 1
- main relay: gets more dash board lights, then blows fuse

interesting one:
- thin earth worth from loom (maybe the Ecu): if disconnected, lights stay on, fuse doesn’t blow, but main relay clicks.... no crank... didn’t do this for long as figured it was bad!!!

All was running find before it was taken apart.... help!

Unplug the MAF and try then to see if the fuse blows or not, if it does is the EGR modulator still there ?
the gist is that fuse F37 is the feed for MAF and EGR solenoid so if one of these has a short the fuse blows, if it blows with both unplugged the problem is on the circuit somewhere or within the fusebox

Ok... so... someone plugged the connectors at the bulk head (engine bay drives side) the wrong way round...

Now fuel pump goes, glow plug / heat light on then off, engine light on then off....

but will not crank at all... nothing...

any thoughts on this one?

Cleaned it up before as it had come off when engine out.

I’ve put the batter in charge but multimeter is reading a good 12v before.

just nothing when ignition turned...
