Hello,
I have a 2003 TD5 Defender.
It has developed a problem where it keeps cutting out at 2500 RPM
I have checked waste gate, cleaned EGR valve, Boost Pressure sensor, turbo/ intercooler pipes, Replaced the intank fuel pump (as it was noisey),changed fuel filter, Pulled Both the black plug and red plug wiring looms out and checked for chaffed / rubbed wires.

When i plug it into the computer it comes upt with 2 faults
57 fuel pump open load fault
77 tacho open load fault

Starting to run out of ideas!! any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Rob

if the problem is exactly the same and all those things were checked i'd say that the high pressure stage of the pump is dead(which will not stop it making noise) and you need a good one

I sent the ecu off to be checked it checked ok, i still had my doubts so borrowed a friends had it paired up at the local land rover specialist and it cured it. So was the ecu!!
