Hi, I have been looking for some time now for a stereo adapter for my 87 Defender. I cannot seem to find one that looks like it will fit / work! Please can someone help? Here are 2 images, one of the socket on the Landy, the other on the ancient casette itself. I want a new stereo, but cannot get the adapter!

Halfrauds do a range of Harness Adaptors, but whether they have one that matches it's hard to tell - lifted from their website:

We have an extensive range of in car audio wiring Harness Adaptors. Harness Adaptors connect your new car audio unit to the car's original wiring loom. Our Harness Adaptor PC2-36-0 is a very popular car audio accessory.

Due to the diverse range of vehicles this Harness Adaptor PC2-36-0 will fit, for further advice on which Harness Adaptor will fit your car, call our experts at your local Halfords store

Suspect you'll end up removing the cage, identifying the wires that go into the gauge socket and then soldering them onto the socket that comes with the new kit!

Out of interest, what make/model is the audio kit you're removing?
