Defender Stereo adapter!?

Hi, I have been looking for some time now for a stereo adapter for my 87 Defender. I cannot seem to find one that looks like it will fit / work! Please can someone help? Here are 2 images, one of the socket on the Landy, the other on the ancient casette itself. I want a new stereo, but cannot get the adapter!

take it to halfords they will have a wiring adapter kit

Halfords suck, I did that 'sorry we don't do those' LOL, Ill just take the cage out and take a look. It's probably that.

Suspect you'll end up removing the cage, identifying the wires that go into the gauge socket and then soldering them onto the socket that comes with the new kit!
